Where we are
The agriturismo is enclosed in the Gulf of St. Eufemia, along the Costa degli Dei (“Coast of the Gods”), a veritable natural paradise with picturesque coves where you can take a dip in a cobalt blue sea on the lookout for groupers, barracudas, white sea bream, octopus and many other typical Mediterranean fish.
A little more than 3 kilometres from the agriturismo is The Frogman Team diving centre. Diving offers the chance for everyone to admire unspoilt flora and fauna, with trips to shoals, archaeological remains and wrecks.
Tropea, just 10 minutes away, is the most popular tourist destination in the region, with a beautiful medieval old town overlooking the sea and the small Santa Maria dell’Isola church. At about 20 minutes away is Capo Vaticano, a seaside resort famous for its beaches. Pizzo Calabro is about 25 minutes away, ideal for spending a relaxing afternoon and trying some excellent ice cream (one of the specialties is handmade “tartufo”). You can visit the small fort where Joachim Murat (Viceroy of Naples and brother-in-law of Napoleon) was held prisoner and shot, and the interesting old town.
Inland, about 30 minutes by car, there is Vibo Valentia, with its old town featuring the Norman-Swabian castle, from which there is a panoramic view of the surrounding area and in which visitors can find the civic museum with interesting archaeological finds from the region.
Serra San Bruno, about an hour and a half away by car, is located at the heart of the Serre Calabresi. It is an interesting mountain village with a beautiful old town and late-Baroque churches, but is especially famous for the Carthusian monastery of the same name, one of the few still in use.
Aspromonte National Park is located to the south. It takes an hour and a half to reach the first towns in the park area. The most interesting places are those in the Griko-speaking area, such as Bova, Pentedattilo and the old Amendolea, on average two and a half hours away from the agriturismo.
