B&B La Casa di Giacomo, our charming BnB that is nestled in the foothills of the Valle Nervia, Liguria. We are in a fantastic part of the world being surrounded by the beauty and peace of this natural area yet in easy reach to cosmopolitan towns like Monte Carlo and San Remo (which are only a 40 minute drive away) and all the other amazing Italian and French towns dotted along the rivieras.

The countryside is rich in history......you can wander and explore the terraced mountains and follow the ancient paths to the medieval towns like Pigna, Castel Vittorio, Buggio, Isolabona, Dolceaqua and many more. Along the way you will discover traces of past lives from WW11 bunkers to the simplistic countryside rusticos, old mills and fortified walls, castles, churches, shrines and much more...... Pigna, named after the Pine Cone, is also home to the healing thermal waters of the Terme. (only 3 kms away). Our Rosina Room has been painted by the Australian artist Gemelle Madigan in which the history and story of the olive harvest is depicted. She is now painting a second room in the manner of the 15th Century artist Canavesio, whose frescoed church you can also visit just outside Pigna on the old Salt Road. We have plenty of parking, both for cars and campervans, a large kitchen and leisure area and shaded terrace wwhich leads into a restful swimming pool.

Also, if you take a short drive to the seaside ( Ventimiglia is only a 20 minute drive away) you can wander through and become fully entranced by the magical Hanbury Botanical Gardens.

Great location...we are close to the border of Italy and France in the most temperate of Italian climates.
We are only a 20 minute drive to the seaside town of Ventimiglia, the last posting of the Italian Riviera before entering Mentone, the first town of the French Riviera. We are a short 3km drive to the village of Pigna and the Pigna Terme, a 30 minute drive to the Hanbury Botanical Gardens and 40/45 minute drive to San Remo and Monte Carlo respectively..... also, close by in Melosa, is the "Via del Salte" (the old Salt Road") and the famous "Alta Via Dei Monti Liguria" (AVML)...medieval towns with labyrinth pathways dot the landscape...... towns like Dolceaqua with its famous castle and Apricale are only a 15 minute drive away from La Casa di Giacomo.
