Our Agriturismo Bianconiglio is a 17th century farmhouse, belonging to our family for generations. Warm and hospitable structure, created by an attentive and accurate restoration work, it has been realized by respecting completely the original building, with the goal of maintaining the antique charm unaltered, to bring the culture and traditions of yesteryear back to life.
The charming underground part of the building, is particularly evocative. The old barrel vault, the terracotta tiles and the walls of stone and antique bricks, after decades of being hidden, have been brought to light. Visit with us the old cellar, which is accessed through a fascinating tunnel.
ON THE LANGA-HILLS, IN THE HEARTH OF THE BAROLO-AREA
The Agriturismo Bianconiglio is located in Perno, Monforte d'Alba, characteristic little village in the Langa hills, dominated by its imposing castle, in the heart of area producing Barolo wine. From this exceptional, natural terrace, you can enjoy a magnificent 360° view: orderly vineyards, houses and farmhouses dotting the hills of the villages of Novello, Barolo, La Morra, Castiglione Falletto, Roddi, Grinzane Cavour, Diano d'Alba and Serralunga d'Alba in the foreground. Further off, the Alta ("Upper") Langa, with its woods and small spread-out villages, the Roero territories, and finally the alpine arch, from the Maritime Alps to the Matterhorn and Monte Rosa massifs.
Have a look from our panoramic terrace, on the top of the Agriturismo: it is always at disposal of all our guests.

RICH AND TYPICAL BREAKFAST-BUFFET
Each morning we will have the pleasure of wishing you "good morning" with a rich, genuine breakfast made of typical products. Not only coffee, espresso, cappuccino, milk, yogurt, a wide choice of teas and infusions, fruit juices, butter, assorted marmalades, local honey, fruit, bread and cereals, but also Barolo-salami, ham and local cheese. To begin the day in the best way, do not forget our tarts and cakes!
TERRACES
The Agriturismo has three large terraces. From the highest one, open to all of our guests, you can enjoy the wonderful panorama of the entire surrounding Langa-hills, up to the mountains. Have a look at the Langa-villages which surround us, with their medieval castles. The terrace, with its chairs, tables and deckchairs, is ideal as solarium or for pleasant moments of relaxation: enjoy a cup of coffee or a tasting of our wines with this magnificent view!
SWIMMING POOL
Come and have a swim in our panoramic outdoor swimming pool with Jacuzzi. Enjoy a wonderful view of the Langa-hills up to the Alps while swimming or sunbathing. Our swimming pool is only for our guests, to guarantee you magic moments of peace and relaxation. The area is provided with comfortable chaise longue, sunbeds and beach umbrellas. A bathroom and a changing room are at your disposal. Our pool is outdoor (seasonal).

Where we areIN THE HEART OF THE BAROLO AREA
We are in the heart of the Barolo area, which includes just eleven villages, with an altitude between 200 and 500 meters above sea level: Monforte (and Perno) is one of them. This area of great value has peculiarities that render it particularly disposed to wine-growing. The morainic terrain and the prevalently dry climate contribute to the large concentration of sugars in the grapes’ acinus allowing for a wine production of extraordinary quality. Dominating indisputably the noble nebbiolo vine, present in the varieties lampia, michet and rosé, from which come the celebrated Barolo, “King of Wines” and “Wine of Kings”.
In ancient times, this area played part of a large plain along the sea, fed by rivers coming from the Alps. Over the course of millenniums, due to marine flood phenomenon, progressively materials of various origins accumulated and stratified, and subsequently, due to the rivers’ erosive action, determined the formation of the gentle hills that we can today admire, characterized by dark accumulations of an argillaceous (red clay) origin and of white-yellowish or bluish colour of marly (tufa) origins. Exactly where these are concentrated are the areas where the nebbiolo vine, even suffering, due to the elevated presence of calcium (calcium carbonate) and to the compactness of the land, drainage and nutritional problems, it is able to produce the best grapes, destined to become Barolo wine.
Our vineyards are all here in Perno, the oldest part of the Langa-hills, the so called “elveziano” (referred to its origin), distinguished from the “tortoniano” by its compact soil composition, which gives the wine structure, body, tannins and notable longevity.
