This name does not only recalls the peace of the surroundings; it has also got an important sentimental value for us as “Pacifico” was the name of our Grandfather, founder of our family and of all that it has inherited.
The Santonis come from Val d’Orcia and exactly from the area known by the name of “La Foce”. They were a patriarchal family, métayers of the Marchioness Iris Origo. In many tales I heard as a child I have recognised the chronicles, that I later read, written by the Marchioness since my grandparents had lived them in person.
After abandoning the Val d’Orcia, as many other families did, the Santonis moved to Montepulciano where they met with the fertility and the liveliness of the Val di Chiana lands. The new generation boasts twenty-year experience in the tourist and oenological-gastronomic business. Our purpose is not merely to offer you walls, though beautiful, nor to have you only as our guests, but to make you live a real, lively place in an area where, we must admit, this task is quite easy to perform.

Where we areOur farm is just a
few miles from the old town centre of Montepulciano (about 800 metres), though in the open countryside, on a natural panoramic terrace 500 metres above sea level. This is a strategic position for any kind of movement. The estate includes about 10 hectares of land, with vineyards belonging to the denomination of “Vino Nobile di Montepulciano”, olive-groves belonging to the “DOP” production of this area, fruits, vegetables, woods and three springs, the whole of it being part of a very rich faunal-hunting preserve.
If you wish, we suggest you to leave your car for one day and visit Montepulciano on foot, using your calm as main ingredient, so as to have the possibility to enjoy the suggestive corners and unique panoramic views characterising our “Medieval town”, , surrounded by green hills decreasing towards the valley below and by a lively countryside whose vineyards and olive-groves are a framework worthy of such a wonderful borough.
