Linas is a mining area on the coast with an unusual sandy soil.
It’s impossible to leave this province without visiting Sa Jara di Gesturi and and the Piscinas dunes.
Sa Jara of Gesturi is well known to fans and scholars of geology and archaeology, so its spectacular environment will not surprise you. We recommend you visit it on foot, passing through breathtaking scenery as far as the Morisia Botanic Garden.
Visit the town of Villacidro known to travellers for the Sa Spendula Waterfall.
The village of Villacidro was cited in one of D'Annunzio’s poems. Other waterfalls in this area are Rio Linas, Piscin'Irgas and Muru Mannu, the latter located deep in a fairytale landscape.
Wheat is the typical main product of this area. Bread, the fruit of this crop, is at the core of many of Medio Campidano’s traditions.
Since ancient times there has been a custom of painting and decorating bread. In distant times bread was decorated using the pintadere, special discs carved with a design that was then transferred onto the bread.
Today, visitors can follow the so-called ‘Wheat Roads’ and discover the folklore, customs and traditions that link the wheat crop to this area.
