Located in the heart of the Veneto countryside, Fattoria Villa Curti is a delightful combination of beauty, tranquillity and nature, attained through careful restoration of an 18th century building belonging to the Curti family.
Situated a few kilometres from the Cities of Art in the Veneto region, it is an ideal base for art, culture and nature itineraries.
Vicenza and some of the major Palladian villas (“La Rotonda” – “Villa Cricoli”) are just a few kilometres away, while Padua, Verona, Venice and Treviso can be reached in just one hour by car.
The farmhouse offers hospitality in spacious apartments (with two and three rooms) and guest rooms, totally renovated and furnished in the traditional Veneto style. The warm and luminous tones of the rooms make a particularly welcoming and elegant atmosphere, offering the intimacy of a private residence. Although renovated in conformity with the original structure, all the rooms are provided with modern conveniences, air conditioning, telephone, DSL line for Internet connection, satellite TV and hair dryer.
We have two three-room apartments for 3/5 people (“L’Erica” and “Il Moraro”) composed of a living room, kitchen area, double bedroom, single bedroom, shower room and second toilet, three two-room apartments for 2/4 people (“Il Gelsomino”; “Le Ortensie”; “I Carpani”) composed of a living room, kitchen area, double bedroom and shower room and three guest rooms with twin beds and en suite bathrooms.
Built in the second half of the 18th Century in the centre of a large farm covering approximately 100 hectares, (some maps from this period testify to this), Fattoria Villa Curti is a typical example of rural architecture from the Veneto countryside.
The building is sober, linear and elegant in its simplicity, enhanced by a portico, once used for keeping animals, but today completely renovated in conformity with the original architectural characteristics: the old pillars have been restored and the roof re-tiled to preserve the charm and appearance of the past.
The building, originally used as a dwelling for tenant farmers and employees of the Curti family, was the main fixture of “Villa Bissari – Curti”, the imposing architectural complex dating from 1600, surrounded by extensive grounds of approximately 30,000 sqm, dotted with many varieties of ancient trees, and which are available to guests for relaxation and leisure.
The farm, which is run directly by the owners, currently extends for an area of 50 hectares, partly on the plain and partly on the hillside. Crops grown are maize, soya beans, wheat and sugar beet. However, an important project to develop the farm has recently been implemented by planting about 40,000 young vine plants in an area of vineyard extending over approximately 11 hectares. The varieties grown, all with denomination of controlled origin (DOC), are Merlot Colli Berici, Cabernet Sauvignon Colli Berici, Pinot Grigio Doc Vicenza, and Chardonnay Colli Berici.
The property located in the hill area, at Monte S. Pietro, is particularly esteemed, both as regards panorama and environment, and with reference to production.
This hill, rising in the centre of two hill systems, Montecchio Maggiore (famous for the castles of Romeo and Juliet) to the south, and Monteviale – Gambugliano to the east, dominates the two splendid Val dell’Onte and Valdiezza valleys, still endowed with their original natural beauty. The striking view stretches across a succession of rolling hills, with their neat cornfields, meadows and vineyards, to the backdrop of the mountain chains of Mount Lessini and Mount Grappa.
The vineyards, established expertly in the heart of a wooded area, produce an excellent quality of grapes, also thanks to the calcareous nature of the ground.
