The agriturismo Borgo Floreani, is situated right in the heart of Friuli and therefore is the ideal starting point to discover an unspoilt region, rich in Art, History, natural beauty, still untouched by mass tourism. It is also a border region, place of transit for different population which have left traces of their cultures in the archaeological sites, historical manufacts, cuisine and language.
The farm is set in a well preserved landscape formed by villages, country churches, villas and medieval castles which reflects the respectful and harmonious dialogue woven - over centuries - by man and nature.
Walking, horse riding or bicycling along the old streets, pony trails and cycle paths in the hills nearby offers plenty of relaxing fun in contact with nature.
Alternatively, the “Strada dei castelli e del prosciutto” leads through an enchanting countryside to San Daniele, village that gives the name to our best prosciutto, to be enjoyed accompanied with the local wine.
For more natural beauty, food and wine stops, try: the Collio area with its vast renowned vineyards, the Carnia Mountains for its cheeses and the Valli del Natisone for dishes with a Slovenian twist.
In a short drive it is possible to reach the most famous sights in the region: the archaeological excavations Roman and paleocristiano of Aquileia; the alleys of Grado and the wildlife habitat of its tidal freshwater marshes; the Romanesque-Longobard architecture of Cividale; the bastions of the Venetians fortress of Palmanova; the many piazze of Udine with its palaces and the affreschi by Tiepolo; the manieristic Villa Manin, now Centre of Contemporary Art.
In one day it is possible to visit the cosmopolitan city of Trieste or the enchanting Venice.
For those who would rather engage in outdoor pursuits, there is a vast choice of activities: horse riding at the numerous stables, swimming in the new pools & health spa at Majano and Gemona, playing Golf in Fagagna or Lignano and trekking in the mountains nearby.
