With its microclimate and abundant sunshine, the slopes of the Farm Estate Montereggi are ideal for growing typical Tuscan crops. Today the Montereggi estate produces mainly extra-virgin olive oil in the modern oil-mill and wine. The immediate pressing and the low temperature does not alter the fruit aroma and the minimum acidity of the Montereggi extra-virgin olive oil. The owner-manager’s approach is to combine traditional agricultural methods with modern techniques and quality assurance. Wine and oil can be tasted at the farm and the Montereggi extra-virgin olive oil is available for direct wholesale/retail marketing in Italy and abroad.
Where we areHistorical Notes:
This ancient Tuscan farm estate has been in the hands of the owners for over four centuries. It is located in the
Mugnone Valley where
Chianti dei Colli Fiorentini wines are produced, along the old Via Faentina that links Romagna with Florence. The countryside is dotted with old churches, villas, farmhouses and “hostels”, which were stopping places for pilgrims and travellers of old. The fields are often terraced with walls. Once wheat and hay were grown between the rows of olive trees as well as vines and fruit trees
