Trafonti is a characteristic and rustic home, its origin date back to the XVIII century, located on the north-east side of the Florence Province, at 35 km Florence and at 16 Km from the big town of Pontassieve. It is completely dived in a natural and panoramic area situated at 692 mt on the level of the sea.
The small distance from Pontassieve allows to visit daily the city of Florence, by train, arriving directly to the heart of the historic city, in Santa Maria Novella Station.
The property borders on the Natural Biogenetic Reserve of Vallombrosa and it raises at the intersections of two ancient roads, now practicable only by foot or by horse. The first joins with the Consuma Pass (1060 mt.) and Pratomagno Massif (1591 mt.); the other joins with Vallombrosa Abbey (1000 mt.) and Secchieta Mountain (1500 mt.).
The natural beauty of the area has been largely conserved, the silence and the green woods give a sense of peace of years long past; trekking is one of the most attraction and all the area is surrounding by beaten and signed tracks (you can find Trafonti on the IGM map of Pratomagno Massif (1:25000 scale), map sheet no.31).
