Vibo Valentia is a Calabrian province created in 1992.
The Baroque style cathedral is the "wonder" of the city, with bronze doors that recount the historical events of the Calabria area.
Vibo Valentina was founded at the end of the 7th century BC by Locri and called Hipponion.
Among the collections in Vibo Valentia’s State Archaeological Museum are many archaeological remains ranging from prehistory to the Ancient Greek and Roman eras.
Worth visiting is the castle with its very well preserved stone houses, and also the old noble palaces.

Not to be missed is Tropea in the province of Vibo Valentia.
Tropea is a beautiful town that overlooks the blue of the sea like a terrace. Taste the local dishes based on the Tropea red onion. This sweet flavoured Calabrian delicacy is grown along the Tyrrhenian coast between the provinces of Vibo Valentia and Cosenza.
