Guide to vacation in Pescara
Discover Pescara - Guide to vacation in Pescara

The Abruzzo province of Pescara was founded at the mouth of the River Aterno-Pescara. The heart of Pescara is Corso Umberto I, which leads to Piazza Rinascita, commonly known as Piazza Salotto.
One of the most beautiful monuments is the Cathedral of S. Cetteo, which contains a 17th century major work by Guercino.
Pescara was the birthplace of Gabriele D'Annunzio. The house where he was born can be reached on foot.
Museum lovers will find the Fish Museum and its fossils interesting, and the Museum of the Abruzzo People, which houses objects from everyday life in the past. For those fond of nightlife Corso Manthonè is a must.
Pescara includes a part of the National Park of Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga. The park is home to over two thousand types of plants, as well as forests, woodlands and pastures. Rare species of animals include the chamois, Apennine wolf, wildcat, Lanner falcon, goshawk and golden eagle.

Visit Caramanico Terme (spa) in Abruzzo province, famous for its thermal waters and beautiful scenery. Caramanico Terme is in the Maiella National Park near the River Orta. Local history claims a monk who was a grandson of Charlemagne founded the town. The town’s importance is most certainly due to the presence of its sulphurous waters, still enjoyed by many visitors.
A few kilometres away are the small villages of Abbateggio and S. Valentino, also immersed in the beautiful Maiella Park.
Montesilvano is a seaside town divided into two parts: the old "Montesilvano Town” and the modern "Montesilvano Marina”.
The culinary tradition of Pescara and Abruzzo is mainly pasta, with macaroni alla chitarra (fat, square spaghetti) the pride and joy!
