The farmstead La Valletta Centro del benessere is situated at the foot of the Ischitella town, in one of the most beautiful and panoramic valleys of the whole Gargano promontory. It has 33 beds in comfortable double rooms with private bath, meeting rooms, a restaurant, a "pizzeria", a bar, a swimming pool, a tennis court and a midget football field, and a big equipped park. At sunset the sun creates every evening in a different and unique way light effects with intense and violent colours that reflect from the swimming pool to the motionless surface of the lagoon and finally break on the ripples of the sea.

Besides, there are several sports accomodations that offer interesting opportunities for sports clubs and business outings.
Franco, the owner and also an expert gourmet, creates sophisticated menus with ultra fresh fish like red mullet, tuna fish, bass and crayfish, prepared following some special recipes or even served raw seasoned with “extravergine”cold-pressed olive oil produced by the estate’s own olive trees.
The dishes are accompanied by strictly biological vegetables harvested in the farm’s vegetable garden, traditional local cheeses, cold meats and sausages and a choice of the most sought after Puglia wines.
At the end of the meal you may taste in addition to the by now famous "limoncello" (alcoholic lemon beverage) a rare Puglia grappa produced with local grapes.
From September to June La Valletta offers dinners, lunches and breakfasts for those who want to rediscover the taste of good meals.
Where we areThe Gargano is an area to be discovered not only in summer time because there is always a mild and temperate climate, ideal for relaxing vacations and also for visiting the natural environment. The sea, the lagoons, the lakes and the sandy beaches delimited by the promontories and their guard tower. But also the mountains, the forests and the green of the National Park. And again the faith routes, the chapels and the huge churces, that are the destinations for pilgrims from all around the world.
You may approach the Gargano area following different moods: if you like excursions, if you like to relax, if you are a Padre Pio devout, if you like good food, if you like water sports, if you like arts, or if you like all of these, anyway you will find the Gargano a fashinating destination full of surprises.
This territory is particularly suitable for walking trips: along the coast you may take long walkings between the bays, visiting the ancient defensive towers. These towers were garrisoned night and day and were arranged in a way that every tower would have been visible by the 2 contiguous ones and in this way whoever would see the enemy gave the alarm to the other 2 towers and so on for kilometers in a few minutes through a word-of-mounth.
On the promontories there are also the Trabucchi, ancient platforms with a sophisticated system of arms and pulleis for fishing. Today they are just tourist attractions and a good subject for pictures lovers.
Another very interesting area for nature lovers is the Lesina Lagoon, one of the most important Italian area for the wintering and the nesting of water birds. The land that separates the lagoon from the sea is considered one of the best preserved example of Mediterranean bush in Italy.
The favorite destination for hikers is the National Park, particularly the forest: 27.000 hectares of beeches, holm-oaks, elm trees and other 2.200 botanical species. Inside the park there is a thick and well preserved system of tracks: very important is the path for "differently able" people, a long itinerary in the heart of the forest practicable also by wheelchairs.
A visitor center, a small museum and a wide pen with fallow deers and mouflons make the forest a destination suitable also for families with children.
