The holiday farm "Ca' Maddalena" is located on one the nice hills, at about 450m on the sea level, which characterize the beautiful countryside between the Adriatic coast and the Appennines chain of central Italy. In the ancient house’s outbuilding, we decided to build the seven rooms for the guests (total 23 beds), according to the rules of eco-architecture.
A big beautiful garden surrounds the two houses (restaurant and rooms) where you can relax while looking at the amazing panorama on the Appennines.
All rooms have a double bed and some of them can be 3-, 4- and 5-bed-rooms.
Each room has a bathroom, an independent heating system (floor heating) and the entrance door goes directly on the garden from where you see a wonderful view on the mountains that separate the region Marches from Umbria and Tuscany.
We decided to build the swimming-pool in the most panoramic spot of the farm.
From the pool there is a beautiful view to the Apennines of central Italy and the pool is situated in such a distance from the noise of the buildings (rooms and restaurant) that it is an ideal place for everybody who loves Nature and relaxation.
Our guests and just a few friends of ours are the only users of the pool; you will, therefore, never find it crowded (max. 20-25 people).
One part of the pool has a depth of 75 cm: the ideal depth for little children to play freely under control of supervised by their parents.
The restaurant "Ca' Maddalena" works in harmony with the rhythm of our farm.
We breed calves (Marchigiana) and pigs (Cinta Senese) and we grow vegetables for our restaurant.
We serve only homemade pasta (cappelletti, ravioli, lasagne, tagliatelle) and in autumn we have the pleasure to cook for our guests the delicious local mushrooms (edible boletus) and the world famous "tartufo" (truffles), which grows in our forests.
In our restaurant you will taste all the best of the traditional cookery of our land.
The northern part of Marches, called “Montefeltro”, is an interesting territory for its history and the beauty of its countryside.
Urbino, one of the most important Renaissance towns in Italy and painter Raphael Sanzio’s native town, is about 12 km far from the farm. Inside its wonderful Ducal Palace takes place the National Gallery of Marches, where interesting paintings of Piero della Francesca and Raffaello are on display.
In one hour by car you can reach fascinating little castles and fortresses, like San Leo, Gradara, Gubbio, scattered on the territory that was dominated by Duke Federico da Montefeltro in the XVI century.
We also suggest you to reach the “Gola del Furlo” (15km far), a natural canyon through which the river Candigliano flows and the ancient roman road “Via Flaminia” connected Rome to Fano on the Adriatic coast.
