Azienda Agricola Biologica Nico lying on the green slopes of the hills very close to Lucca plain, the sea of Versilia and the Apuan Alps was started from the need of reawaking of an abandoned farm and a deep love for nature and the farming tradition. The premises of the present Agriturismo was a halt place for the pilgrims travelling from France to Rome along Via Francigena.

The house is completely surrounded by woods, cultivated fields, meadows and olive groves.
The daily life in a peaceful atmosphere makes you feel as you lived in ages gone by.
We grow vegetables in a biological way, we preserve the precious winter rains to wet the vegetables gardens in summer, we use the sun and wood power to heat the water and our flats, we clean our sewer using willows, bulrush, iris and reeds. Our organic farm would be an experience to promote environment protection, to this purpose, we will give you biodegradable and biological products for daily use. It will be our care to provide the container for the differentiated collection of rubbish.

Around the house there are trekking routes to visit small old towns and Romanesque churches in the adjacent hills and ancient mule-tracks.
We have donkeys and other domestic animals. Our house is furnished with a wood oven, hammocks, a wide terrace where you can enjoy typical products or appreciate reading at your leisure.

Nico farm is inserted in the list of biological and biodynamic farms of woof  an international organization intended to join the travellers who love working in farms respectful of nature farming techniques.

At donkey’s pace

In the winter months we organize week-end at donkey’s pace.
With Nella, our donkey, we leave the wood, we go along old mule tracks, we border olive yards and vineyards, to small chapels and old hamlets. We do that to be together....slowly...
Arrival on Saturday, a few words about the donkey, a first approach to her, dinner in the farmhouse; the following morning breakfast and departure with Nella along the paths of the surroundings.
