A few steps from the historical centre of Pienza, in the ancient farmhouse San Gregorio, seat of our farm, we offer hospitality in rooms and apartments with a beautiful garden, according to the experience got in Agriturismo Cretaiole property of the family.

The position of the Agriturismo San Gregorio is rather particular as it is the nearest to Pienza, which can be reach on foot.
The familiar context guaranties a genuine contact with the rural life of Val d'Orcia.
Moreover our guests can buy our products, like extra virgin olive oil, DOC wine of Orcia and all that the country offers such as fresh eggs and vegetables.

 
Housing

The farm is made up of rooms and spacious comfortable apartments that accommodate from 2 to 6 people, restored and furnished in respect of functional characters and rural characteristics: old Tuscany furnitures sink in travertine, fireplace in stone, floor of brick and on sight beams.

All this in a peculiar charming and comfortable atmosphere.

We offer hospitality in the following apartment:
‘’L’Olivo’’ can accommodate two people. It is made up of a large room with a beautiful and big fireplace, a kitchen, a double room and a bathroom.
‘’La Vite’’ is a spacious and comfortable apartment, which can accommodate four people and it is made up of a living room with a double sofa-bed, a bathroom, a kitchen with fireplace and a double room with bathroom.

Our rooms are:
‘’Il Pozzo’’, a double room with bathroom.
‘’La Vite’’ and ‘’Il Pozzo’’ can be united to create a new apartment, which can accommodate 6 people.

The apartment and the rooms have independent entrance, independent heating, fireplace, television, kitchen utensils and linen.

Outside you can find a large garden with tables and lounge chairs to get the sun on one side and on the other side the farmhouse with pets and all the activity of the daily life.

The farm is restored in respect of functional characters and rural characteristics. All these things permit to our guests to stay in a place where it is possible to have a fireplace reminding to the past and the cock-crow greets the sun. Out of door there is the possibility to see and participate to the different activities of the year in country.
Our guest can watch and participate directly to the activity of the farm: the grape gathering and the process to make wine, the olives harvest and the production of oil, the truffle search, the production of salami and hams, the seeding and the harvesting of cereals...

Who wish to know the real rural life can find here a datum point to have beautiful experiences.

In the farm you will find a winery, where it is possible to taste our wines, a room to keep the oil, where you can taste it,a domestic garden with season fresh vegetables, which our guests can pick directly, and a small breeding with different animals: gooses, ducks, guinea-fowls, chickens, rabbits, pork, pigeons, turkeys...

Children can take care of them with us.
At disposal our guests we have mountain-bikes, firewood for the fireplace and a small basket with breakfast for the morning after the arrival.

Among the most important visits we can suggest, it is worth mentioning the Romitorio of Pienza, which we are glade to show you.

Surroundings

San Gregorio situated few steps far from the historical centre of Pienza and from Cultural Natural Artistic Park of Val d'Orcia...

The Agriturismo is a starting-point for excursion to small and medium town full of history, art and culture. One of the most important is Pienza, a jewel of the Renaissance architecture and urbanism wished by pope Pius II, the medieval village of Monticchiello where every year takes places a form of popular theatre, San Quirico d'Orcia, with its marvellous Collegiata Church, Castiglione d'Orcia with the near fortress d'Orcia, Montalcino with its monuments and the Brunello, Montepulciano with its palaces, churches, works of art and the Vino Nobile, Chiusi and its famous Etruscan museum, moreover abbeys like Abbey of Sant'Antimo and the Abbey of Monte Oliveto Maggiore with the frescoes of Sodoma and Signorelli.

Nearby there are important spa such as Bagno Vignoni, Bagni San Filippo, Chianciano Terme, Rapolano Terme, San Casciano dei Bagni...

Other natural attractions are the landscape of Val d'Orcia, which is suitable to make trekking, excursion with bike or horse riding, Monte Amiata, Trasimeno Lake and Bolsena Lake.
In less than an hour it is possible to reach Siena, Arezzo and Perugia.

In the environment there are always concerts, shows…and it is possible participate, especially during the summer, to the several and important folkloristic and cultural manifestations (Fiera del Cacio (Fair of the cheese), Bruscello, Cantiere Internazionale d'Arte, Festival della Val d'Orcia, Bravio delle Botti, Festa del Barbarossa...).

Curiosity: some products of Pienza are celebrated.
