Surroundings
The medieval towers of San Gimignano are only 6 km away; the same distance for the small walled of Certaldo Alto, built in red bricks and perfectly preserved, once home to Boccaccio, the poet and writer of “Decameron”.
In Certaldo you can park your car (free parking) near the railway station and to travel to Florence or Siena by train (1 hour).
The farmhouse lies down the “Via Francigena”, the main pilgrims route linking Rome with Canterbury, the first known European road of Middle Age, where today is possible to met pilgrims as in the past: Sigeric, archbishop of Canterbury, passed here in 996 A.C. travelling towards Rome.
