The hero with the plough is the recurring image on the small urns containing the ashes of small landowners from the area of Chiusi in the Hellenistic era; a sort of symbol of their membership of a proletarian class in the dim picture we have of the social conflicts with the aristocratic class that the slaves and the poor took part in to gain political and agricultural land rights.
