The land and the vineyards of the Montemaggiore farm are located in the heart of the Tuscany region, on the hills half-way between the provinces of Siena and Arezzo. They overlook the so-called “crete senesi” – the unusual natural “lunar landscape” created by prehistoric erosions on sand and clay, namely great gashes like open wounds of the land – as well as the century-old woods and pine forests. The alternation of olive groves and rows of vines creates a charming and multifarious landscape which is both sweet and wild.

The farm is located in Capraie (in the province of Arezzo), four kilometres from the village of Palazzuolo, 20 minutes by car from Arezzo and Siena and less than a hour from Florence and Perugia.

The 2,000 hectares of land, vineyards (75 hectares), olive groves, woods of Turkey oaks, oaks, chestnuts and cluster pines also host our three villages, namely Palazzuolo Vecchio, Montemaggiore and Podere Casanova, with a swimming pool, a synthetic grass tennis court, two luxury villas with swimming pool and spa.

Three old villages, namely Palazzuolo Vecchio, Montemaggiore and Casanova, completely restructured by preserving their original characteristics, which chestnut wooden rafters and battens and “cotto” floors, immersed into the green quietness of the Tuscan countryside. Relaxing holidays may be spent there, characterized by walks in the woods, sunbathing around the swimming pool, biking, horse-riding, spa treatments, golf or visits of the many tourist destinations which can be easily reached. Upon request, we will be pleased to organize for you wine-tasting and wine-making courses or dinners featuring typical dishes of the Tuscan cuisine.

Upon your arrival, you may taste our wine and we are ready to provide all the necessary information for you to experience a truly unforgettable holiday.

All country houses have their own private swimming pool.

Most of our ancient country houses are equipped with wonderful and perfectly functioning stone or brick fireplaces. The country houses are furnished in the typical Tuscan style, known as “arte povera”, with solid wooden furniture. Every unit has a private swimming pool and private outdoor areas equipped with garden and patio furniture.

Our villages and the two villas are an ideal location for your marriage or celebrations. Our estates are best suited for long walks, for those who are fond of trekking and mountain biking, and they can also be used for horse riding (we have agreements with the neighbouring riding schools ensuring special rates). Some areas are also used as game preserves. Guests may also participate in wine making and wine tasting course, and we will be glad to invite you to discover the restaurants in the area with which we have special agreements.
We also have special agreements with spa facilities (5 kilometres away) and golf courses (10 kilometres away).

Upon request we can also organize tours to visit the tourist destinations nearby.

Where we are

The farm extends to the hills between Siena's and Arezzo's towns facing the Sienese cretes.
The landscape is very charming: secular oak, cerris and chestnut woods alternate with pinaster pineforest, the silver colour of the olive plants gives sometimes the way to the regular rows of vineyard.
In the watercourses, whose bottom can be reached on foot, by horse or by 4WD cars, sparkling streams flow (which are often destination of excursions).
The landscape is definitely wild and pleasant for the alternation of the so different colours.
The farm centre, where offices and cellars are, is in a place called Capraie, 4 km from Palazzuolo village which is still in Arezzo's province but 200 m. from the boundary with Siena.
