The Podere Pietraposa is situated in the Upper Cecina Valley nearby Pomarance, a small medieval village, just a short drive from the Tyrrhenian sea and the many towns of great artistic interest as Florence, Pisa, Siena, Volterra and San Gimignano.
The Podere is a beautiful farm house ,just renovated in harmony with the tuscan country style and is located on dominating hilltop position.Our farm is part of 21 hectars of cultivated land where we produce wheat and olive oil.Podere Pietraposa is composed of four apartments each with a master bedroom, a bathroom and a living-room with cooking facilities and a convertable sofa.
Beside a large swimming-pool with salification sistem we also provide a common guest room where you can rest, play, read in complete relaxation.
To visit the surroundings mountain-bikes are also available. Podere Pietraposa is certainly the right choice for nature and art loving people.
The Podere Pietraposa is located in the Tuscan Alta Maremma named "colline metallifere". The Farm is a at a short distance from Pomarance , a small village situated on top of an hill, at about 375 meters elevation , which dominates the Cecina river. In the historical centre of Pomarance you could admire the remains of walls and doors of an ancient fortified castle and of old Middle Ages and Renaissance buildings.
Very interesting is the old Romanic church of San Giovanni Battista that preserves in his interior the works of the "manieristico" painter named "Pomarancio". At a short distance from the village you can visit the Rocca Sillana and the Pieve of S.Giovanni. Among the various folkloristic activities in Pomarance the most important is certainly the "Palio storico delle contrade", that takes place every year on the second Sunday of September.In this competition various groups called "terzieri" try to win the "palio" with original theatrical representations on historical themes and the participation of numerous originally dressed figurants. It is certainly worthwile to visit Volterra a beautiful Etruscan town.During summer in many of the village are always organized the "sagre" typical culinary entertainments.
