On a hill overlooking the medieval town of San Gimignano, surrounded by greenery, in an isolated and mysterious corner of the Tuscan countryside, the Torraccia di Chiusi farmhouse offers its guests a family welcome in an environment of uncontaminated beauty.
Situated within the context of an exquisitely renovated ancient villa, the farmhouse offers 7 large and welcoming bedrooms, each with antique furniture and decorated with refined taste.
The renovation of the house involved the use of ecological building methods and equipment aimed to save energy and safeguard the environment. For example, ecological paint and natural fibres were used in the bedrooms.
The farmhouse won first prize for ecological efficiency in a 2005 initiative organised by the Region of Tuscany.

Ecological: because of its unique location on the oldest section of the Via Francigena and because of the manner in which the farmhouse has been restored and organised.
The Torraccia di Chiusi farmhouse holds cooking courses (including individual sessions) on natural, organic, typically Tuscan and antique Tuscan (Etruscan and Medieval) cuisine.
Excursions are organised along the ancient trails of the Via Francigena, as well as along nature trails of particular beauty.
Unforgettable walks in uncontaminated nature, dotted with archaeological and historical sites.
And for anglers: a small lake equipped for sports fishing.
By reservation:
expert guides take small groups to see the historical, artistic and natural beauty spots of the Val d’Elsa area and surrounding zones (minimum 6 people).
From Torraccia di Chiusi a 40-minute walk along the ancient Francigena pilgrimage trail takes you with ease to the historic centre of the medieval town of San Gimignano.
Excellent road connections to the main historic and tourist centres of Tuscany: Florence (35 minutes by car), Monteriggioni (10 minutes), Siena (20 minutes), Volterra (25 minutes), Pisa (60 minutes), etc.
The farmhouse is just 30 minutes by car from the famous thermal baths of Rapolano Terme.
It’s also just 60 minutes by car from the sea and from some of the most beautiful beaches of the Tuscan Riviera, such as Bibbona, Marina di Castagneto, Bolgheriand others.
