Welcome to Maremma. Ancient, extraordinary, and wildly unique. Agriturismo Il Civilesco is situated on a rolling hill in Tuscany’s beautiful green countryside, and overlooks a breathtaking view of olive groves and vineyards. The area is also ripe with archaeological and historical sites.
Nature offers a loving frame by cradling the area within the Costa d’Argento (Silver Coast), Parco Naturale della Maremma, (Maremma Park), the Spa and Baths at Saturnia and Mount Amiata. We are easy to reach, open all year and offer interesting options for both summer and winter getaways. The staff are friendly and helpful and ready to do what it takes to make your vacation memorable.
Il Civilesco Agriturism is part of the Teaching Farms Project. You can request a course or tasting of our products and we will do our best to accommodate you. The course on saffron includes an introduction to this refined spice as well as a saffron based dinner.

We are located in the municipality of Magliano in Toscana, which extends from the sea to the coasts that rise towards the volcanic tuff areas, and Monte Amiata.
The history of this area gets lost in centuries past, from Etruscan traces to Roman and Medieval ones. Of particular interest are the villages and towns of Capalbio, Magliano, Pitigliano, Sovana and Pereta.
Agriturism Il Civilesco is in an area known as Cancellone, which in the past was on the border between the fiefs of the Corsini Princes and Vivarelli Colinna. Today it is possible to visit the Etruscan Necropolis known as Cancellone I, a splendid example of tombs with painted chambers, and important examples of primitive Etruscan wall painting.
In the area, you can find the magnificent Silver Coast, the Maremma Natural Park (parco dell’Uccellina) The Spa at Saturnia and the Islands of Giglio, Giannutri and Elba.
During your stay, day trips to the many wine producers in the area are possible, by following the Strada del Vino (wine path) called Colli di Maremma where you can also visit the numerous restaurants and taste our traditional and local dishes.
