Umbria, described as the "green and the holy" region,

presents an image of peace and tranquility among lanscapes marked by the characteristic features of the medieval imprint. Dominated by high hills, it offers much in the way of tourist routes and historical/cultural sites wich are an attraction for many visitors each year.

 

Only two Km. from our guesthouse lies the village of Spello, an ancient hill village which, more than any other place in Umbria, preserves traces of the Roman presence, later incorporated into the medieval architecture. The "tour de force" which display the manual skill of the people of Spello is the festival of the "Infiorate del Corpus Domini". After a long and intensive period preparation, in only one night elaborate floral compositions are created along the streets, which then act as the frame for the morning procession. A carpet of bright colours and heady perfumes forms images with a sacred theme. A few minutes from Spello is the village of Bevagna, noted for its system of waterways. Bevagna also dates back to Roman times, while the existing structures are medieval. Montefalco, owing to its splendid panorama, is known as the "bannister of Umbria". Also accessible by car in a matter of minutes are places such as Perugia, Assisi, Spoleto and Todi: town wich, as well as their historical and cultural heritage, host event and festival of international renown.
