The name “I due ghiri” in Italian means “two dormice”: these two were found still asleep by the workers during the refurbishment of the farmhouse in the winter of 2001.
The farm, which occupies almost 40 acres, is situated on the hills of the “Val Di Vara” valley, very close to the Cinque Terre in Liguria, one of the most beautiful regions of Italy famous everywhere for its fantastic local products such as olive oil, pesto dressing and many others.
In our farmhouse we grow olive and fruit trees, chestnut trees as well as vegetables following strict organic rules.
Animals such as hens, sheep, chickens, turkeys and Guinea hens are grown following the free range method.
There are plenty of interesting and beautiful places that can be visited during your staying at “I due ghiri” such as the evocative and fascinating Cinque Terre, or the Golfo dei Poeti together with the parks of the local Alps and of the Magra that make of the area a very charming and relaxing place to rest.
I due Ghiri offers rooms with individual bathrooms situated in the main block of the farmhouse, made of local ancient rocks, which has been recently refurbished respecting the original structure and aspects.
In the vaulted-roof rooms situated in the old cellar, one can taste local wines, dishes and other procdutcs made only with organic ingredients produced in the farmhouse following strict organic procedures.
