Poggio Cennina

Poggio Cennina is a magical place. Situated on the heights overlooking the Val d’Ambra, it enjoys a unique panoramic view of the southern Chianti region. It was here that Luigi Pelaggi and Paolo Rossi decided to make their dream come true: to create a healthy retreat, far from the humdrum of daily life, where the passage of time is marked by the rising and setting of the sun and the coming and going of the seasons in their different colours. Poggio Cennina Farm was created on organic principles: it is a place where nature take precedence over everything else. Ninety hectares of vines, olives and fruit-trees: plants which are cultivated in a healthy way, with respect for their natural rhythms. This is what sets Poggio Cennina apart; it originated in the friendship of two persons and their unbounded love of nature.

The hard work of the people who live and farm here results in considerable agricultural output which is then transformed into high-quality products like Borgo Cennina wine and Borgaccio olive oil. But this is not just a fertile land rich in nature’s products, it is also a warm-hearted land, offering outstanding hospitality in its beautiful old rural homes. The Resort is created by restructuring a group of stone houses perched on a knoll. A hamlet with great atmosphere, where it is possible to live the quiet life and discover how wonderful that life can be when one is surrounded by everything the heart can desire. Not only can one enjoy the farm’s produce, tasting a superlative Tuscan olive oil and a great red wine, but one can also walk through the fields and woods, relax by the side of the lake, play tennis, swim in the pool, go horse-riding and play football on a real pitch, perhaps with Paolo Rossi, one of the world’s truly great champions.
