The farm is typical for this area: a large threshing floor, pastures, woods, olive groves, vineyards, the "trulli" where the steward and his family live, the cattleshed with cows and calves, the farmyard with hens, rabbits and pigs, and the manor house where the hospitable landlord lives with his family and offers accomodation in a few guest rooms.
In addition, there are 3 independent apartments with typical barrel vaults, offering room for 10 persons, with Kitchenette, heating and television.
Where we areThe historical city centre of Locorotondo, that dominates the Itria Valley, has been recently awarded and claimed ‘one of the most beautiful town in Italy’ thanks to its houses with the typical vaults called “cummerse”. The historical centre is made of little concentric streets and alleys paved with clear “chianche”stones.
Around Locorotondo there are many “contrade”, and small or medium structures of Trulli each of them with their own story.
The Cantina Sociale famous for the production of the wine: Bianco Locorotondo Doc is exported all over the world.
Martina Franca (km 5) famous for its historical city centre and precious XVIII Baroque architecture. There are baroque front doors decorated with apotropaic masks and splendid caryatids. Martina Franca is also famous for its churches founded during the Middle Ages. Every year in July and August the Festival of the Valle D’Itria is held. Martina Franca is also famous for the natural park Bosco of the Pianelle.
Alberobello (km 9) is unique for its historical city centre as it is the capital of the’ Trulli’ a peculiar place to live, made in stone. They are part of that area recognized by the UNESCO as The Patrimony of Humanity.
Fasano (km 10) famous for its Zoo. Fasanolandia is the fun park. There are also the ruins of Egnazia dating back to the II millennium BC. These are cultural site of interest.
Cisternino (km 10) famous for its little alleys and balconies full of flowers. Cisternino is visited by those who love wine and food, in fact, the town is famous for its meat specialties. There are several butcher shops that in the evening they turn into restaurants by putting tables on the street.
Polignano a mare (km 25) famous for its position on a cliff overlooking the sea, and rich with grottos and hollows and caves in the rocks.
Castellana Grotte (km 23) famous for its splendid grottos.
Ostuni (km 23) called the “white city” because the city walls are white lime. The town is known for its historical centre characterized with baroque architecture.
Matera (km 75) famous for its rocky churches, caverns and stones. Matera is also recognized by the UNESCO Patrimony of the Humanity.
Castel Del Monte (km 90) Founded by Frederic II unique for its octagonal shape. It is also the Patrimony of the UNESCO.
Lecce (km 100) is known for its naturalistic, artistic and archaeological sites. Lecce is also famous for its baroque churches and for the area called Salento where the untouched nature together with the sea gives origin to enchanted landscapes. It is possible from here to visit Otranto and Gallipoli and Capo Santa Maria di Leuca.
