The Farmhouse Borgo Poggiolo, with pool on the little hill' is perched on a hilltop, 460 m. a.s.l. Overlooking an untouched wooded valley, it is set in the gentle Umbrian hills, between Orvieto,Todi and Perugia and close to the border with Tuscany.
It’s the perfect place to come and explore the tranquil Umbrian countryside or just relax with a good book by the wonderful swimming pool, accompanied by a background of birdsong. We are ideally situated for walking or mountain biking, great way of exploring the hilltops, valleys and woods.

Breakfast with home-made bread and conserves, delicious meals cooked with local ingredients, including our own produce, could be provided by the owners Sylvia and Giampaolo after reservation.
Children are welcome and are free to play and enjoy the natural surroundings, whilst being safe and secure, as the pool area is completely fenced in. The large swimming pool ( 6x17 m²) with spectacular panoramic views, is complete with garden loungers and umbrellas. We offer also mountain bikes-archery - lawn bowling and a games room for use by everyone, equipped with a table tennis table. A laundry is available. Wifi for free.
All apartments have an outside seating area. Our little farm is a ten-minute drive away from Borgo Poggiolo and has 13 ha. of pasture, woods and olive trees where the little herd of cows love carrots from our guests!

Location
Borgo Poggiolo (‘the farmhouse on the little hill’) is a fantastic, restored farmhouse set in the Umbrian countryside 460 m above sea level between Orvieto and Perugia. About 15 years ago it was converted into a comfortable country house, lovingly restored with great respect for local traditional architecture. The house is perfectly positioned midway between Rome and Florence, near to the border with Tuscany. If you like the arts, nature and genuine home-made cuisine and are looking for a wonderful place to relax, you will feel perfectly at home here! Furthermore, we are closely situated to the best wine and olive oil routes in Umbria and Tuscany.
Surrounding less then 20 km
The nearest village is Pornello, panoramic views of which can be seen from Borgo Poggiolo.
During the winter only three people live there and the village has a real feel of times past. The village of San Venanzo (10 km away) is full of character and has shops, cafes as well as a volcanological park and museum. The small town of Marsciano is 20 km away and has lots of supermarkets and, on Mondays, has a typical regional market. The delightful hilltop towns of Montegiove, Montegabbione and Monteleone also need to be visited.
Close to Montegiove are the gardens of "La Scarzuola", a Franciscan convent founded by St. Francis of Assisi in 1218, but acquired by the Milanese architect, Tomaso Buzzi, in 1956. La Scarzuola now boasts stunning gardens and an outdoor theatre complex ('The Ideal City'), which has to been seen to be believed! We can organize a guided tour in English.
