Today, La Staffa farmhouse holidays in Valeggio sul Mincio in the province of Verona has new energy and a new mission; to make our visitors enjoy a completely different, innovative, exciting and above all satisfying holiday. A zero impact holiday!

Over the last few years, La Staffa farmhouse holidays has taken on a great commitment in converting to alternative energy and from 2008 one of the biggest innovative photovoltaic installations in the Veneto region will start functioning.

The installation supplies clean energy to the entire La Staffa complex and also to the farming company with an estimated production of 60,000 KWh per year.
The necessity to create something different and exploiting the possibility of transforming the company into a small power station was born from the desire to create something for our children; to give them a stimulus to continue managing the family company and be a cut above the rest. What better idea is there than to exploit an inexhaustible source of energy like the sun?

The origins of ”La Staffa” date back to the sixteenth century, when it was a convent. Only later was it transformed into a farmhouse, comprising a granary, riding facilities, stables and a “brol”: a piece of land destined for the cultivation of forage and the pasture of animals. Still today, the premises are surrounded by the original 16th century stone wall, erected to protect the estate.
A wise method of restoration allowed to preserve the original structure with its massive wooden beams and to safeguard the pure and rural atmosphere of the past.
