From the farm holiday house La Staffa you can discover the natural beauties of the Morainic Hills and of the Mincio Valley.
Borghetto sul Mincio is an old medieval village which is only 3 Km away: it is built on a river and its richness revolved around the activity of the mills which have been restored. Here you can also see the long Bridge of the Viscontis which around the 14th century used to connect the lands of the Lords of Verona and Mantua. The Scaligeri and Visconti families left a mark here during their dominion, as they did in the nearby town of Valeggio sul Mincio. This town is not only famous for its culinary tradition, in particular for the “tortellini”, but also for the beautiful
castle of the Scaligero family which dominated the valley until the 13th century. From the farm holiday house La Staffa in a few minutes you can reach the Parco Giardino Sigurtà. It is considered one of the top 5 parks in the world and it covers a surface area of 50 hectares, with lawns, flowers, paths, small lakes and centuries-old trees.
Nearby there are two amusement parks, the water park Parco Acquatico Cavour and Gardaland (15 Km away), the largest amusement park in Italy.
Just 30 Km away there is the city of Verona with its history, monuments that date back to Roman and Medieval times, modern art exhibitions and opera performances at the beautiful Arena.
You must see the small ports, olive trees and natural attractions of nearby Lake Garda, just 15 Km away.
We also suggest that you visit the nearby town of Mantua (30 Km) with its typical buildings and porticoes. Visit also the surrounding historic places, scene of many battles fought for our national independence: Solferino, San Martino della Battaglia, Villafranca and Custoza, where you can also drink some excellent wine.
