The entrance to Villa dei Papiri is located in front of the Source Cyane (Fonte Ciane), in the Natural Reserve of the river Ciane. Follow signs to FONTE CIANE and arrive at Villa dei Papiri.
Note: You should not follow gps directions which are not updated as the streets surrounding the farm have undergone recent changes and there are new roundabouts. Follow all road signs to FONTE CIANE, please.
From Catania-Siracusa and Gela-Siracusa highways:
Exit to SIRACUSA and go towards the city center.
There are some works in progress on the way, go further and pass by the cemetery on your leften side until the crossroad/entrance to the city: here turn right to Canicattini (SP14), pass the roundabout in front of the shopping center “I Papiri/Carrefour” as well as the following roundabout, where you have to go straight. After only 200 ms, there is a third roundabout and you have to turn to the third exit on the right and take the "Contrada Cozzo Pantano" by following the signs to Fonte Ciane; continue for 2 kms more and turn left to Traversa Pisima until you find the Fonte Ciane and the entrance gate to the Villa.
