Tavernola Locanda di Campagna owes its name to the original resting station which since 1700 had been inside the old cottage, and is located in a strategic position on the only road leading to Calabria. Frequent visitors well knew how beauty this place was, so they made the most of the opportunity for taking refreshment and making their horses rest.
Nowadays, the Complex Tavernola still maintains intact the fascination of architecture of old times and, like then, it represents the place where you can join relaxing stays with the taste for local cooking and typical dishes. Rooms in common use in the cottage are rustic, with pleasant furnishings, and ornaments studied in all their details.

A nice reading-room, a small library, and an Internet point are facilities at our guests’ disposal.
The restaurant, present on the guides “I Ristoranti di Veronelli 2004” and “I Ristoranti d’Italia 2004” (the guides of L’Espresso – a very important periodical), offers a regional cooking extolled by very fine quality wines. A particular care and attention is directed to cheese and cured pork meats, choosen among the best product from Campania, and to wines which are carefully selected and wisely suggested; besides here you can find all kinds of choice and guaranteed meats, that are cooked on an old embers, when you order them.
First courses (pasta) are another pièce de résistance. They are all prepared with handmade pasta, fruits of the creativity of our very clever chef. In order to make your evenings more magic, Tavernola has got a garden for about 70 seats, where you can have dinner beneath summer stars.

In the neighbourhood of Tavernola, less than an hour distant, you can visit the most beautiful tourist places of Campania, from Amalfi Coast to the Royal Palace of Caserta, from the Monastery of Padula to the Caves of Pertosa. In cooperation with SAM Elicotteri, Tavernola organizes helicopter tours to fly over the most fascinating places of the Region.
