Santa Chiara is an old farmhouse (in italian "podere") among the vastest and greenest hills between Umbria and Tuscany. It is situated in a lovely position amoung peaceful hills and cultivated fields, at the foot of Città della Pieve, an old medieval town built around the VII - VIII century a.d. at the top of a hill that dominates the Valdichiana and the Lake Trasimeno.
The farmhouse, restore to its ancient aspect, was inhabited by a family of Umbria farmers whose main occupation was cultivating their land, picking up its hard-earned fruits.

Città della Pieve offers to the tourists the unmistakable charm of it old town centre where the various styles (from neoclassic to gothic) are perfectly mixed with the prevailing medieval style. In summer you can choose from a wide range of folkloristic, gastronomic and handicraft festivals.
The Agriturismo Santa Chiara position is suitable to reach easily the most important centres of art and culture in Umbria and in Tuscany. It is possible thanks to the collocation between two of the most charming and famous regions all over the world and the nearby highway A1 (exit Fabro) connecting with Rome (at 110 km) and Florence (at 110 km).
It is possible to choose among many itineraries: Città della Pieve (km 4), charming medieval village; Chiusi (km 9), famous for its Etruscan remains, the Lake Trasimeno (km 15), with its beautiful panoramas; the spa centres of San Casciano dei Bagni (km 15) and Chianciano Terme (km 29); the art towns of Orvieto (km 30), Perugia (km 45) and Siena (km 70) famous all over the world; the Medieval villages of Montepulciano (km 35), Pienza (km 40), Montalcino (km 50), Cortona (km 30), Assisi (km 65), the Saint-Francis' birthplace, and Spoleto (km 110).
These towns are situated in an area characterized by charming landscapes and rich of typical products, offering gastronomic specialties and genuine wines to those who love an oenogastronomic holiday.
