As of 1754, the De Marco family give birth to the ancient farm building where oil and wine have been produced with their own traditional tools. These are today shown in our tourist farm restaurant.
Right here, at the foothills of Mount Stella, among steep slopes and wild forests in the heart of the Cilento and Vallo di Diano national park - a UNESCO-declared mankind heritage – “I Fornari” tourist farm has started a new life thanks to a careful remodelling respectful of the ancient architectural characteristics.
Along the farm lanes and under centuries-old olive trees, traditional farming tools are scattered as mute witnesses of a life spent in a simple and calm attitude. “I Fornari” tourist Farm grants living in a perfect relax environment with its comfortable halls and rooms, its impeccable services, its cuisine rich with typical flavours peculiar of the Cilento region.
It is going to be difficult to resist the taste and smell of the so called “simple” courses, still cooked according to ancient recipes, passed on from mother to daughter in a way such as to preserve the old times taste and genuine preparation.
The meals will be even more enjoyed in the charming restaurant hall situated in the old oil-mill, built in local stone bricks and warmed up with the severe open fire.
The restaurant is arranged in a way such that guests will gather together around the table, at the same time, just as in the traditional old family.
In our tourist Farm we were careful in the arrangement of areas where the maximum relax can be enjoyed. Our guests may wish to spend quiet hours reading under our porch or take profit from the large solarium terrace.
...They may wish to take their children to the mini-playground, and have fun in the swimming pool, also equipped with solarium and a hydro therapy corner. The farm also has an Italian bowling ground, and table tennis; quite a lot of mountain bikes are available, free of charge, to tour the mountain lanes and trails in the surrounding Cilento national park. Last but not least – on request – a shuttle service will be made available to go the seaside
(the sea is so pure that it has been awarded with the European “Blue Flag”) or many places of historical and natural beauty, such as Pæstum, Velia-Elea, and Cape Palinuro.
