Cascina Strà is an idylic farm house located in the heart of the beautiful ligurian countryside. Built in 1600, the Cascina has been painstakingly and lovingly restored by its owner Chiara Merola, a passionate and experienced advocate of ecological restoration, using authentic local materials and environmentally friendly techniques. As a result, the Cascina is fully energy self-sufficient, using solar panels and wood from its own sustainable forest.
Located at the heart of a forest of chestnut trees, the Cascina commands a fantastic 180° panoramic view of hills, forests all the way to the glittering Ligurian sea, which is approximately 9 km away.
The Cascina, which is reached by means of its own 2,5 km natural soil road, but is easily accessible from the main ligurian highway, offers its guests the real flavour of an isolated Italian country house, with its kitchen garden and olive groves, its natural springs and its romantic nooks and crannies.
The cascina is a perfect location for trecking and other outdoor activities such as climbing and mountain biking. It is for example close to the well-known free-climbing at the White Rocks of Orco Feglino. More than anything however, the peace of the cascina makes it a perfect retreat from the stress of modern day living and the ideal location for artistic and other creative activities.
The cascina, which is self-catering, has a number of guest bedrooms, with from 2 to 4 beds, and a beautiful kitchen which is available for guests to prepare their own meals.
