Ripostena is a family-run Holiday House nestled in the hills of Tuscany, an area in the Siena Province of outstanding natural beauty. The ancient hamlet has been restored according to traditional Tuscan style and equipped with all amenities to make you feel at home. Ripostena, with breathtaking views over the hills and forest and gardens all around, is the perfect place to spend a relaxing vacation surrounded by nature.
Our guests will enjoy a lovely infinity pool overlooking the valley, 5 hectares (12 acres) of colorful and carefully maintained gardens and green areas, picnic area, children’s playground, recreation room with ping pong and table football and an unforgettable panoramic terrace with stunning views of the Tuscan countryside, including the town of San Gimignano and the Chianti region.

On the property there are 2 houses (Casa Bertilla e Villa Boscobello) and 7 apartments (La Rimessa, L’Essiccatoio, Il Trinciatoio, Casa Vecchia, Il Frantoio, La Capanna e Il Fienile).
All the accommodations have their own independent entrance and are large, bright and comfortable. Some of them have a private garden. All of them have one or two terraces (in many cases with view) and are covered and completely furnished with table, chairs and bbq. The houses/apartments are finely restored and have terracotta floors, wooden beamed ceilings, arches and wide glass windows. They are composed of one, two or three bedrooms, one or two bathrooms and a large living and dining area. The kitchens are fully equipped with a refrigerator, stove top, oven and dishwasher and microwave (on request). Some apartments have air conditioning.
On request, upon availability: baby cot, high chair, extra beds, iron and ironing board and hair dryer.
Wi-Fi internet connection in all apartments and in the common areas.
Ample free parking available.
Electric Vehicle charging spot available for all guests.
A laundry room is available for all guests.
All our double beds can be separated into two single beds.
Martina, the host, will be happy to give you suggestions about the area, including towns to visit such as Siena, Florence, San Gimignano, Volterra, Montalcino, great restaurants, wine tasting of Super Tuscan, Chianti, Brunello di Montalcino, Nobile di Moltepulciano, pecorino cheese tasting, Tuscan cooking classes, truffle hunting, hikes, etc.
Upon request we are happy to help you with mountain bike rental, guided tours, food and wine tours, and guided nature walks.
Ripostena is located in a strategic position: Siena, Florence, San Gimignano, Monteriggioni and the Chianti region are all within easy reach. For hiking lovers, the area has many paths to explore, alone or with a guide.
A car is necessary for reaching Ripostena. The last 2,5 km (1,6 miles) is an unpaved country road. Ample free parking is available.
In the nearest village, 4 km (2,5 miles) away, you will find a grocery store, a coffee bar, a pharmacy and other shops.
The nearest town, Colle di Val d’Elsa, is 15 km (9,3 miles) away. From Colle di Val d’Elsa there are several buses to Florence, San Gimignano and other towns.
The Sienese Montagnola is incredibly rich in history, nature and landscape. It is listed in the “Nature 2000 Network” as a site of community interest.
The area is rich in woods of holm-oak and chestnut, and is inhabited by animals such as roe deer, fallow deer, foxes, hedgehogs, squirrels and numerous species of migratory birds you might come across during a walk. Furthermore, the area is home to monasteries and evocative churches you can discover when walking, for example, along the ancient Via Francigena, that cuts across the northern part of the area.
If cities such as Florence, Siena and tiny San Gimignano need no introduction given the international fame of their artistic and cultural heritage, the area round Ripostena is home to a series of smaller centres of great artistic worth. Locations like Monteriggioni, Volterra, Casole d’Elsa or the medieval abbey of San Galgano are ideal places for those who love the peace and tranquillity of smaller towns, far from the congested principal tourist routes.
For food-lovers, the area is rich in gourmet journeys to discover the tastes and products of Tuscany.
