The manor house's garden plays host to the ancient private chapel dedicated to the Blessed Umiliana de’ Cerchi.
In the 13th century, the noble House of Cerchi was created in Acone and subsequently moved to Florence. Castel d'Acone was the family's first residence. The Cerchis, along with Acone itself, are mentioned by Dante in the Divine Comedy. The surrounding farmhouses are notable.
At the edge of the villa there is a hamlet that has been painstakingly restored.
The buildings of this borgo have been sub-divided into various apartments, which have retained their historical features and are available to rent throughout the year. The Cerchi family lived in Castel d'Acone for several generations in the 12th century before moving to Florence, and the still-extant Renaissance chapel next to the castle is dedicated to the blessed Emiliana dei Cerchi, whose mortal remains are to be found at the Basilica of Santa Croce in Florence. Alongside the apartments created out of the farm complex, it is also possible to rent the manor house on a weekly basis. The Castel d'Acone estate encompasses eighteen hectares of agricultural land, mostly given over to the cultivation of olives (the products made from these olives are available to purchase). The farm complex, complete with swimming pools, is open throughout the year and offers mountain-bike rental and other services to ensure that guests make the most of their stay. Castel d'Acone is the ideal starting point for unchallenging excursions – on foot, on horseback or on mountain bikes – in search of fragrances and colours that have been lost elsewhere.

Those who like to go trekking will find that Tuscany has a plethora of signposted trails. The trails were created for the most part by the Italian Alpine Club (CAI), the offices of which are scattered throughout the region. These trails are the perfect way to discover Tuscany's wonderful natural world. The best areas to trek through are those situated to the south of the Chianti hillsides, where fortresses and vineyards embellish the landscape.
Vicchio is the site of "Il Forteto", a riding school with which we have special agreements in place. Here you can go on enchanting rides on horseback or take riding lessons.
