SOME TOURISTS HAVE ASKED...

Desidererei trascorrere una notte, per due in Val D'orcia -Toscana- presso un agriturismo che abbia anche la mezza pensione e possibilmente ubicato su una collina della valle (caratteristico della zona).

Aux alentours de Rome , 2 semaines juillet ou août , 2 adultes et 3 enfants, je recherche un gîte avec si possible une piscine à proximité ainsi que de la restauration avec des produits locaux, en bref, de la détente , de la verdure et quelques bon petits plats......

Buscamos alojamiento en la zona del Chianti con desayuno incluido. Nos gustaria un lugar centrico para poder movernos a ver otros lugares y poder hacer alguna cata de vinos. Gracias!

We would like to stay in Tuscany in August. We are a couple In the late fifties from Norway and we are spending tree weeks travelling in Toscana. A nice place with good Italian food and wine. Aase and Helge.

FROM FLORENCE
Exit Firenze-Impruneta/Certosa tool booth on motorway A1 and take the 4-lane highway towards Siena until you reach Poggibonsi. Exit at Poggibonsi-Nord and follow the signs to San Gimignano. Once you reach San Gimignano, take the main road to Volterra (first intersection-roundabout on the left after the sign indicating the town's entrance; on the intersection's right there is a clearly visible parking); after 4.0 km, at San Donato (San Gimignano's small suburb), you will see a sign indicating "Voltrona 1.6 km." Turn left and follow the signs to "Agriturismo Voltrona" (Voltrona Farmhouse). At San Donato there is a 1.5-km dirt road, after which you will reach your "destination".

FROM ROME
Exit "Val di Chiana-Bettolle" tool booth on motorway A1 and follow the signs to Siena. At Siena, take the 4-lane highway towards Florence and exit at Poggibonsi Nord (do not exit at Colle Val d'Elsa, even though San Gimignano is indicated on the sign, because that will lengthen the road). At Poggibonsi follow the signs to San Gimignano. Once you reach San Gimignano, take the main road to Volterra (first intersection-roundabout on the left after the sign indicating the town's entrance; on the intersection's right there is a clearly visible parking); after 4.0 km, at San Donato (San Gimignano's small suburb), you will see a sign indicating "Voltrona 1.6 km." Turn left and follow the signs to "Agriturismo Voltrona" (Voltrona Farmhouse). At San Donato there is a 1.5-km dirt road, after which you will reach your "destination".

FROM PISA
Take the FI-PI-LI (Firenze-Pisa-Livorno) motorway. Exit at EMPOLI OVEST. Follow the signs to Castelfiorentino/Certaldo/Poggibonsi/Siena.
Once in Castelfiorentino, follow the signs to Certaldo.
Once in Certaldo, take the Strada Provinciale towards San Gimignano. Continue for about 13 km. Once in San Gimignano you will find a roundabout: go straight towards the center of San Gimignano and pass through it (you will find the city walls on the left). After that, you will find a roundabout with an iron sculpture inside.
Take the road to Volterra, the first exit on the right.
Continue for 4.0 km; at San Donato (San Gimignano's small suburb) you will see a sign indicating "Voltrona 1.6 km." Turn left and follow the signs to "Agriturismo Voltrona" (Voltrona Farmhouse). At San Donato there is a 1.5-km dirt road, after which you will reach your "destination".

FROM VOLTERRA
Take the regional road towards Colle di Val d'Elsa and, after 15 km, in Castel San Gimignano, turn left towards San Gimignano. After 8 km turn right towards San Donato: in San Donato (San Gimignano's small suburb) you will see a sign indicating "Voltrona 1.6 km." Turn left and follow the signs to "Agriturismo Voltrona" (Voltrona Farmhouse). At San Donato there is a 1.5-km dirt road, after which you will reach your "destination".

FROM CERTALDO
take the road “Strada Provinciale” towards San Gimignano. Continue for about 13 km. Once in San Gimignano you will find a roundabout: go straight towards the center of San Gimignano and pass through it (you will find the city walls on the left).
