Uncontaminated nature, and the vicinity to splendid mountains make Ca' Serrantonio the ideal place for nature-lovers. It is possible to go on beautiful walks along clearly-marked public footpaths, immersed in woods which are negotiable for all the family, or more ambitious trekking excursions along the multitude of footpaths on mount Nerone, with its breath-taking views and grottesfor lovers speleology.
For cyclists, especially mountain-bikers, there are a lot of itineraries which are indicated on clear maps, and range from easy rides along country roads which are closed to traffic, for expert bikers, where the panorama from the hilltops can even reach the adriatic coast, and make all the effort worthwhile.
Where we areCa' Serrantonio is in a strategic position for whoever intends to have a cultural holiday. In fact, it is approximately 30 km (half an hour's drive) from
Urbino, the famous city of art which also has an important university. About 10 km from
Ca' Serrantonio is
Urbania, once called
Casteldurante, famous for its ceramics and its renaissance buildings. The closest town is Piobbico, just 5 km away down the Candigliano river, famous for its stunning brancaleoni castle and world capital of the very particular "ugly people's club".
Other places which certainly deserve a visit are:
- the Furlo gorge (about 20 minutes' drive), an ancient gorge created by the Candigliano river and on the roman flaminian way;
- the adriatic costal resorts (about 40 minutes' drive) Fano, Pesaro, Riccione, Rimini;
- Gubbio: a beautiful medieval town (about 40 minutes'drive);
- the Frasassi Grottres (about 45 minutes'drive) with their immense underground grottes sculptured by nature;
- Gradara (about 1 hour's drive)- the town and castle of the legend of Paolo and Francesca.
